Treadmill buying guide
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT TREADMILL
Walking
If your treadmill will primarily be used for walking, you generally don't need the largest motor or running deck. Prioritise comfort, ease of use, available space and maximum user capacity.
Jogging
Regular jogging requires more from the treadmill. Look for a good-sized running surface, suitable cushioning, solid construction and a motor designed for sustained use.
Running
Regular runners should pay particular attention to motor performance, running deck dimensions, maximum speed, incline capability and treadmill stability.
Heavy or Multiple Users
If several family members will use the machine—or you're a heavier athlete—move toward a stronger home or light-commercial model.
Commercial Gym
For high-volume environments, choose a treadmill specifically rated for commercial usage rather than selecting a home treadmill based purely on motor size.
HIIT & Sprint Training
For explosive sprint and interval training, consider a high-performance conventional treadmill or a motorless curved treadmill.
